With his 2nd Victory in 3 tournaments, Robert Hargrove has once again made himself all but untouchable in the Angler of the Year race. Robert started the tournament Saturday night with a strong 3 fish, 6.94lb bag. Looking at the total numbers for the night, most guys struggled over the 1st fishing period, while Robert built almost a 1 lb lead over the rest of the club. He Followed that with another solid 4 fish, 8.30lb sack to claim the victory. Four other anglers did weigh more fish than Robert during the second fishing period, but his consistency paid off for $312.00.
After he failed to bring a fish to the scales for the 1st weigh-in, Yarik Malyuta brought the biggest 5 fish stringer of the night to the 2nd weigh-in. His 14.16 lb, 5 fish total was caught while Texas Rigging a Creature bait in less than 10 foot of water. He took home $194.00.
Finishing in third place, Hameed Ghaffar, brought a total of 8 fish to scales for 13.21 lbs. Opposite to his natural fishing style, Hameed caught all of his fish while Carolina rigging a Centipede. Slow and methodical paid off for $118.00.
The final money spot was paid to returning Century Member, Dusty Richards, who weighed in 12.34 lbs on 6 total fish over both weigh-ins. He fish came mostly on a spinner bait, but he also used a black & blue power worm to catch them. His payout was $69.00.
The Big Bass was caught early in the morning, during the 2nd period. Craig Dowis weighed a 6.79lb pig. He caught it on a Black Senko on a Carolina Rig in 10 – 15’ of water.
Due to a penalty, Randy Conover was forced to split the 1st Place out of the money tackle pack with Century Tournament Director, Joey Deans, both weighed 5 fish for 12.07 lbs.
