The annual trip to Brandy Branch, the best little hot water pond in Texas or so they say, produced lots of fish as expected.  15 guys caught at least 4 fish, 9 of those had 5 fish limits. Mr. Coy Frazier lead the way with his 5 fish limit weighing 15.74 lbs.  He caught his fish while dragging a watermelon centipede along grass lines.  He and his partner, Gilbert Gomez claimed the heavy boat prize for the day with a total of 23.22.  Gilbert was also the winner for the big bass with a 4.57 lb chunk.  While the quantity of fish was typical, the big girls didn’t make an appearance this year…

In second place was Mike Hughes who also had a 5 fish limit that weighed in at 15.12lbs.  Mike’s fish were caught in super shallow water on a senko.  He also found a keeper on a bed early in the morning.

The third place slot belonged to Ken Caldwell, who weighed in 5 fish for 11.97lbs.  He also caught his fish in the shallows, basically running a crankbait on dry land, as well as on texas rigged plastics.

Rodney Roland finished 4^th, with another 5 fish limit weighing 11.59 lbs.  His fish were caught on an Alabama Rig set up with 5 soft plastic swimbaits thrown on a 7’11” ugly stick, with an Abu Garcia 6000 reel. Least this is what I was told by those who were there, and would know.

The final top position went to Keith Green, who weighed 5 fish for a total of 9.97 lbs.  All of his keepers came on a chicken rig in about 10 ft of water.
