The second tournament of 2007 was just as tough as the first for the Century Bass Club anglers.  Out of twenty eight anglers, eleven guys failed to bring fish to weigh-in and nine more only had one Fish.  Randy Conover was fortunate to find two fish for 12.24 lbs to claim the top spot.  He caught both toads on a Lucky Craft crankbait in about ten to fifteen feet of water.  His big fish tipped the scales at 6.76 lbs, enough to win big bass for the tournament.  Despite fishing without a partner, his 12.24 was a big enough sack to win the heavy stringer.  Randy’s total earnings were $610.00. ($340.00 – 1st prize, $135.00 – big bass, & $135.00 – heavy stringer)

In the second spot with three fish for 9.60lbs, Dan Phifer cashed his first ever Century Bass Club check for $220.00.  Dan’s fish were caught in less thank three feet of water using a Mann’s shallow diving crank bait. 

Despite his “broken” Foot, Paul Jones was able to claim the third spot with two fish weighing 5.86 lbs.  Paul caught his fish on a Texas rigged “Sweet Beaver” in shallow water.  His pay out was $128.00. 

With the second biggest bass caught on the day, Kyle Norrod received $94.00 for 4th place.  His one fish weighed 4.61 lbs and was caught on a rattle trap.  This is also Kyle’s first check with Century Bass Club.

The final money spot was paid to Dwayne Shamburger.  He weighed one fish for 4.60 lbs, finishing only .01 lbs out of 4th position.  Dwayne caught his fish using a shakey head jig & worm and received $68.00 for his efforts. 

Hammed Ghaffar was awarded the 1st place out of the money tackle pack for his two fish weight of 4.53 lbs.  And At the end of the day, Rodney Roland was chosen to receive a free entry fee for the next tournament.

*REMINDER* - Century’s Top 6 team of Jon Harshbarger, Robert Hargrove, Paul Zukosky, Wally Hughey, Nick Carroccio, and Philip Webb will be fishing the Texas State Championship Tournament from March 11th to the 16th,  Good Luck and Bring it home….
