If there were questions about Saturday’s Federation Tournament being tough, Sunday’s fishing proved down right impossible for just about everyone. But despite the tough conditions, Paul Zukosky continued his recent hot streak with 3 fish for 7.14 lbs to claim the $308.00 victory. He caught all of his fish on a 10.5” Black Sapphire worm by Zoom, Texas Rigged. He also claimed the big bass pot of $140.00 with a 3.96lb largemouth. For those who didn’t know, Paul’s front seat post broke Saturday afternoon sending him backwards, head first into the bottom of his boat, but his good fortune continued and he escaped with just a headache & a large knot on his head.
Robert Hargrove brought 4 fish for 6.24 lbs to the scale Sunday to lock up the second place position. He caught is fish like he always catches his fish, shallow on a Chicken Rig. The Club paid Robert $220.00 for his efforts.
After Boasting, “I probably have one that goes 4 lbs, and one that goes 5 lbs” Randy Conover weighed 2 fish for a 5.98lb total to claim the third spot in the money. He caught his fish on a shakey head jig w/ a B.S. trailer. He was Paid $132.00 for 3rd along with $70.00 for his half of the heavy boat Pot, His partner, Russell Roland was paid the other $70.00 for heavy boat.
Nick Carroccio weighed 2 fish for 4.02 lbs for 4th place. Both of his fish were caught on a small shad colored crankbait in shallow water. He was paid $97.00 for 4th place.
Fifth place was secured by Jim Hammond, with his 2 fish for 3.92 lbs. He caught them on a white spinner bait, and on a white wacky worm. He was paid $71.00 in winnings.
The final money spot, 6th place, was paid to Craig Dowis, who weighed 1 fish for a total weight of 2.39 lbs. His fish was caught on a frog early in the morning. Craig received $54.00. The 1st out of the money tackle pack was awarded to Mark Calhoun, who weighed in 1 fish for 2.22 lbs. Yarik Malyuta was randomly drawn to receive a free entry fee in the next tournament.
