HARSHBARGER TAKES
RICHLAND CHAMBERS
Jon Harshbarger took top honors on
Richland Chambers February 20 bringing in 4 fish in what most every angler
stated was a very tough day. Jon’s winning weight of 10.90 lbs, which also
included the big bass of the tournament at 5.89 lbs, were caught using jigs in
the reeds. Jon took home $289 for 1st place, $114 for the big bass, and $58 for
his half of the heavy boat weight split with his partner of the day, Dwayne
Shamberger. Good job Jon!
Second place and $188 went to Mike Stewart with 2 “chunks” tipping the scales to
6.68 lbs. Mike’s nice fish came on a watermelon/red Tiki stick fished weightless
in 6 feet of water around grass.
“Mr. Consistency,” Robert Hargrove, captured the 3rd spot with 3 keepers for
6.61 lbs and $108. I didn’t get a chance to question Robert on his pattern, but
will assume they came on a chicken-rigged trick worm. If that wasn’t the case,
we will all need pictures to prove otherwise—just teasing Robert!
The 4th place money of $80 went to Joe Thompson. Joe came in with 2 nice keepers
for 4.84 lbs. Joe’s fish were caught on a chicken-rigged trick worm, a technique
he picked up from the master himself in a tournament last season. Way to go Joe!
Russell Roland rounded out the top five with a nice toad weighing in at 4.43
lbs. Russell fished a spinner bait for his $59 payday. Nick Carroccio was the
winner of the 1st place out-of-the-money tackle pack and the free-entry drawing
was won by Russell Roland.
There were a total of 22 bass brought in for a total of 55.13 lbs and a 2.42 lb
average.
