Coy Frazier Wins TOUGH Fairfield Tournament
Coy
Frazier bested 31 anglers at our January 19 tournament on Fairfield with 3
fish totaling 11.19 lbs for a nice payday of $382 which included $73 for heavy
boat weight. Coy caught his fish
by “dragging” grass beds on the upper end of the lake with his favorite
French Fry. Check the web site
for pictures of Coy’s bag including a picture of a “hog” over 7 lbs
caught Saturday during practice.
Second place and big bass of the tournament went to new Century member Nick
Carroccio with a nice bass weighing in at 5.42 lbs.
Nick was rewarded for his nice efforts to the tune of $374 which
included $145 for big bass honors. Nick
got away before I could interrogate him on his bait and pattern!
Duane Climer, the only
other angler to manage a keeper fish over
Fairfield’s 18” minimum, brought in a nice 3.82 pounder for third
place
and a $137 paycheck. Duane’s
fish came on an undisclosed crank bait.
Fourth, fifth, and sixth places were paid out by draws.
Fourth place and $101 went to Hameed Ghaffar; fifth place and $73 went
to Bernie Gajdica; and sixth place and $55 went to Craig Dowis.
David Porter was Coy’s lucky partner and received $73 for the other
half of the heavy boat pot. Keith
Green was the winner of our free entry drawing.
Most all anglers reported catching fish under the 18” minimum.
Water temperatures ranged from the mid 70s at the discharge to the
lower 60s at the dam.
