Mother Nature sure kicked off the 2012 Club season with a hard felt smack on
Monticello this past Sunday. There were 26 anglers, of which only 5 members
actually caught a legal fish with the dreaded slot that is in place on
Monticello. There were quite a few fish caught inside the 14”-24” mark;
however, there were only 7 fish under 14” caught. To win the tournament John
Harshbarger needed only 1 fish weighing 1.12 lbs to claim the top spot along
with the Big Bass pot and the Heavy boat stringer. He caught the mini-sow
on Carolina rig and will sweep the payouts.
In
second place was Mr. Mark Calhoun who was able to catch 2 fish for a total
weight of 1.06 lbs. Mark’s fish were caught on a wacky worm and a tube.
The
third place slot was claimed by Mike Hughs who was also able to catch 2 fish
for a total weight of 0.76 lbs. Mike’s fish were caught on a drop shot rig
with a cut tail worm.
Keith Green will take home the fourth spot with one fish weighing 0.44 lbs.
He was able to entice the fish to bite a 6” lake fork worm.
The
final position will go to Bill Johnson, who was able to catch a single fish
for a weight of 0.38lbs. His fish was caught with a Texas rigged senko.
