Tommy Yates Takes Tawakoni

Tommy Yates bested a field of 22 members and the triple digit temperatures to capture first place at our July 20 tournament held at Lake Tawakoni.  Although no limits were brought in Sunday afternoon, Tommy’s four fish weighing 8.90 lbs were enough to seal the win and pocket $284 for his efforts.  Tommy’s fish came off docks using his trusty Lake Fork Craw Tube pitched on a Falcon rod and a Shimono reel spooled with McCoy's line.  Nice job Tommy.

Second place went to Chuck Middleton with 4 fish also, weighing in at 8.04 lbs.  Chuck’s fish were caught on Carolina rigged Baby Brush Hogs, also around docks.  Chuck collected $176 for his work.

Randy Conover took 3^rd place with 2 fish for a respectable 6.64 lbs. which included the big bass at 3.87 lbs.  Together with his partner Philip Webb’s 2 fish for 4.12 lbs, they also took heavy boat weight honors.  Randy walked away with $107 for 3^rd place, $100 for big bass, and he and Philip split $100 for heavy boat.  Randy’s fish were caught using Flukes over grass beds.

Fourth place was taken by Robert Hargrove with 2 fish at 4.30 lbs for a $63 payday.  

The free entry drawing was won by Hameed Ghaffar. 

There were only 22 fish weighed in at 48.12 lbs for a 2.19 lb average.  Although the fishing was tough, Century members should be proud of the fact that all 22 fish were returned alive to the lake given the 100+ temperature.

CENTURY MEMBERS CAPTURE TOP HONORS

Century was well represented at the B.A.S.S. Federation tournament held on July 19 on Lake Tawakoni.  Century captured 3 of the top 5 places with Randy Conover taking 2^nd place, Robert Hargrove nailing down 3^rd place, and yours truly taking 5^th place.  Super job guys!
