Harshbarger Remains Hot

Jon Harshbarger continued
his hot streak claiming his 4th win (out of 8 tournaments) at Century’s July 23
night tournament held on Bob Sandlin. Jon’s 8 fish over the 2 days totaled 19.16
lbs and were caught on a host of baits with a blade being his primary weapon.
Jon collected $315 for his 1st place win. Great job, Jon!
Craig Dowis, took second place in the dark on Sandlin with 6 bass caught
on a 10″ Texas Rigged black power worm around grass. Craig’s fish weighed in at
15.14 lbs and earned him $205 plus $62.50 for half of the heavy boat pot split
with his partner, Don Miller, who weighed 4 fish for 10.34 lbs and a check for
$62.50 as well.
The “big man,” Coy Frazier, captured the 3rd spot with 4 fish for 13.85 lbs and
a check for $118. Coy’s fish were caught on a Carolina rigged centipede.
Fourth place was nailed down by Randy Conover with 7 fish for 12.95 lbs caught
on a Zoom trick worm rigged “chicken style.” Randy’s work was rewarded to the
tune of $87.
Robert Hargrove, 2004 Angler of the Year, took the final paid place with 3 bass
for 11.86 lbs and $63. Included in Robert’s sack was the big bass of the
tournament—a toad of 8.79 lbs. Robert’s fish were caught on a green pumpkin/red
Zoom trick worm.
Winner of the first place out-of-the-money tackle pack was Wally Hughey with 5
bass for 11.79 lbs. Brett Kilmer was the winner of the free entry drawing.
There were 79 bass caught by 26 anglers for a total weight of 181.37 lbs for a
2.30 lb average.
