Hensley wins first at Cedar Creek

We had
26 anglers this month fishing Cedar Creek. For the second month in a row and the
third time this year, we had a first-time Century Bass Club tournament winner.
Chad
Hensley takes home his first victory with Century Bass Club. He is a non-boater
so this win becomes even sweeter from the back of the boat. His best five fish
had a net weight of 14.76lbs, topped with big bass for the tournament weighing
5.33lbs. He also had help from his boater (Hameed) to take heavy boat stringer
for a net total weight of 20.69lbs. Their fish were caught using top-water baits
early, and then moving deeper with c-rigs around the mouths of main lake points
and docks.
Dan
Phifer continues to fight for his first Angler of the Year title with Century
Bass Club. He moves into first place this month with his 2nd place
finish. Dan caught 5 keepers weighing 13.91lbs using top-water baits and a Speed
Craw.
Mike
Dysput also catches 5 keepers, his weighed 11.68lbs for 3rd place. He
fished docks with a c-rigged creature bait and a shaky head worm around deeper
docks.
Jeff
Prudhomme caught four keepers for 4th place. His bass were found
under docks and around brush with a jig.
Russell
Roland takes his share by finishing in 5th place. He worked hard
battling the wind on the main lake fishing deep with a c-rig to catch his 5
keepers. Russell’s bass weighed 10.42lbs.
Jon
Harshbarger lands in 6th place this month. His 5 keepers came in at 9.95lbs and
were boated using a c-rig in brush piles and shaky head worms around docks.
July
could be the hottest month of the year so fish care is especially important.
Please take time to review the “Fish Care info” at the top of our newsletter
page on our website. Your time and effort to keep these fish alive could save
you valuable points. Be prepared, temperatures over 100 degrees are expected for
our next tournament at Lake Tawakoni in July. Don’t forget to hydrate yourself
before, during and after the tournament; put on sunscreen; wear a light or wide
brimmed hat; cool off with a damp towel or douse yourself with water. Doing
these things will keep you cool and safe while catching lots of bass. We look
