Craig Dowis Wins Winnsboro
Last
year’s Century President, Craig Dowis, came out on top at Winnsboro with a
nice limit weighing 16.71 lbs which also included the big bass of 5.22 lbs.
Craig caught his fish on the north end on spinnerbaits and flukes.
His fine effort was rewarded to the tune of $503 (Big Bass and half of
heavy boat weight included).
Great job Craig!
Second
place went to Mike Adam whose limit tipped the scales at 14.24 lbs and a check
for $205. Mike’s
fish came on trick worms, a Carolina rig, and his trusty fire tiger crankbait
around brush piles out from docks.
Paul
Zukosky was right on Mike’s heels with a 5-fish limit for 14.05 lbs and 3rd
place prize money totaling $118.
Paul’s fish were caught on a white fluke within “rock chunking”
distance of the ramp.
Fourth
place was nailed down by second-year member David Magers for 12.43 lbs and $87.
Knowing David, I would wager he caught his fish on flukes—do I win
David?
Rounding
out the top five was 2002 Angler of the Year, Robert Hargrove.
Robert’s limit of 12.08 lbs garnered him a check for $63.
Ernie Jordon was Craig’s partner for the day and walked away with a check for $63 for the other half of the heavy boat weight.
