Joey Deans claimed his 2nd victory this tournament season on Stillhouse Hollow this past weekend. Joey was the most consistent angler at the yearly 2 day tournament. His weights were 11.09 lbs on day one and 11.06 lbs on day two, for a 10 fish total of 22.15 lbs. His fish were caught in 20 deep water while dragging a Carolina rigged Baby Brush hog in watermelon & watermelon purple. Joey received $284.00 for 1st place prize money.
In second place was Dan Phifer, who also brought 10 fish to the scales over 2 days. Dans two day total was 21.65 lbs (11.01, day one, & 10.64, day two). He caught his fish in 10ft 15ft of water while throwing a Texas rigged Craw worm. Dan was paid $176.00 for 2nd place.
Third place was awarded to Mike Casanova, who weighed in 10 fish for 21.12 lbs. His fish were caught while mostly throwing a Shakey Head jig, but he also got top water bites with a Zara Spook. He earned $107.00.
Mr. Jimmy Brewer finished in the 4th position. He weighed only 9 fish for a total of 20.15 lbs. He caught his fish on day one while flipping a Watermelon Sluggo into the submerged trees, while on Day two he changed his tactics to a 10 Red Bug Worm and also caught some schooling fish. Jimmy earned $63.00 for his efforts.
As the club rules dictate, there were 2 big bass pots paid, one for each day. Bill Kessler took the Honors on day one with a 5.09 lber caught on a buzz bait not 10 minutes after take off. The day two big bass came from Philip Webb, who caught a 6.08 lber on a shad colored shallow crankbait. Both Bill and Philip were paid $100.00 each.
