Malyuta Lands First Win,
Takes Regular Season Ender On Fork!
Details: Date: October 8th, 2006. Times: Launch, 7:00 A.M. Weigh-In, 3:30 P.M. Ramp: Hwy 17 Public Ramp, Lake Fork.
Conditions: Beautiful. The low temperature was around 53, with a high near 81. Humidity ranged between 30-40%. Winds were E/NE at 5-10mph. Water temps were in the mid 70’s.
Results: First place: First year member Yarik Malyuta cashed in his first win with the club catching 5 fish weighing 8.29 pounds. This included the tournament’s “Big Bass” of 2.79 pounds. Yarik and his boater, Mark Calhoun, also scored the “Heavy Stringer” prize weighing a combined 10 fish totaling 14.78 pounds. Yarik’s fish were caught on Senkos and other weightless worm combinations. This great day earned Yarik $315.00 for first, $125.00 for “Big Bass” and an additional $62.50 for his half of the “Heavy Stringer” pot totaling a payout of $502.50! Great job Yarik!
Second place: Craig Dowis used a spinnerbait to land his 5 fish limit totaling 6.91 pounds. Craig’s catch earned him a second place prize of $205.00. Craig is always tough on Lake Fork.
Third place: Century’s Tournament Director and Vice President, Philip Webb, also brought a limit to the scales. Philip’s fish totaled 6.84 pounds and were caught using flukes and a drop shot rig. This tournament’s third place prize was worth $118.00.
Fourth place: Mark Calhoun used Senkos to secure his limit totaling 6.49 pounds. Mark takes home $87.00 for his fourth place finish and adds an additional $62.50 for his half of the “Heavy Stringer” pot split with Yarik Malyuta, our first place angler. Mark’s winnings totaled $149.50.
Fifth place: Dwayne Shamburger managed to bring in his first limit with Century Bass Club. Dwayne's weight topped out at 6.15 pounds and earned him a $63.00 fifth place finish. Dwayne's fish were caught using a Senko. Congratulations Dwayne.
“First Place Out-Of-The-Money”: Robert Hargrove weighed in 4 fish for 5.74 pounds and won this tournament’s tackle pack. **BREAKING NEWS** Robert’s fish were caught using shaky head green pumpkin red worm in TWENTY FEET OF WATER. This is further testament to Robert’s angling ability. Even out of his favorite pattern, he has little problem dispatching most of the field.
This Tournament’s Free Entry Drawing Prize went to Wally Hughey, for the third time this year!
Congratulations to all our winning anglers and to those qualifying for the 2006 Century Classic! Please see your emailed standings for further details.
