Phifer takes the title at Cedar Creek

Dropping water levels continue to change the schedule for Century Bass Club. For the second month in a row, Century Directors had to make a tough decision on an alternate lake. Lake Lavon was on the schedule but it dropped over 10” in one week to make the ramps unusable. Therefore, Cedar Creek was the lake of choice. These decisions are well thought out for the safety of our members. Thanks for understanding.
Adapting to changes the best this month was Dan Phifer who took 1st place with 5 keeper bass weighing 11.14lbs. He focused on the riprap around bridges with medium diving crankbaits.
Robert Hargrove followed a similar pattern by catching most of his bass on the dam riprap. He caught his 5 bass on a chicken S*&% rig. These 5 bass totaling 8.56lbs wins him 2nd place.
Paul Zukosky lands in 3rd place with 3 bass. The first one being caught with a shad crainkbait on his third cast. The other two were caught on a c-rig with a watermelon red lizard. His stringer weighed 6.71lbs.
The 4th place finisher was Bill Cox who managed 3 fish for 5.18lbs.
Bill Cox and Robert Hargrove worked together to win the heavy boat stringer with a net total weight of 13.74lbs.
The big bass of the tournament was caught by Russell Roland. It weighed 3.35lbs and Russell finished in 5th place with 2 fish weighing 4.82lbs.
Congratulations to Dan Phifer, the 2011 Angler of the Year! This is Dan’s first AOY title with Century Bass Club. Dan has been near the top chasing the title for the last few years and his hard work finally paid off… Way to go Dan!
Our next club meeting will be important this month so please attend. We will be voting on the lake for the Century Bass Club Classic. Below the Cedar Creek tournament results are the final Classic qualifiers. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.
